Construction

We started by acquiring an old unfinished house in 2015. It was a 2700 square feet old farmhouse with big potential. Adobe brick walls with regular brick siding keep the house naturally warm in the winter and cool in the summer. During the summer of 2016, we started rebuilding and remodeling it.

Summer 2016: we repaired the foundation and rebuilt one of the exterior walls. We poured a concrete slab walkway around the building perimeter to protect the foundation from rainwater.

Summer 2018: we removed the old roof, built a new roof frame from scratch, and installed metal roof and roof gutters. We also installed all windows.

Summer-Fall 2019: we added an on-site sewage system, water supply piping, electric wiring, metal fence, drywall sheets on the first floor, and a system of retaining walls outside.

Summer-Fall 2020: finished drywall walls and installed floor tiles in the bathroom

Summer-Fall 2021: installed ceiling on the lower floor
